Laurieston Spiritualist Church will have Jean McDonald from Rainbow House in Grangemouth as guest mediums for its service in the Old Folks Welfare Hall in Mary Street on Monday, February 23. Doors open 6.45 p.m., service starts 7.30 p.m. Everyone welcome.
Scouts & Guides
The Beavers, Cubs and Scouts along with the Rainbows, Brownies and Guides are holding a joint Founders/Thinking Day Celebration Service in the Scout Hall on Sunday from 11 a.m. till noon with light refreshments afterwards. The leaders would like to invite all parents, family and friends and past members of the Scouts and Guides to come along and join us.
A warm welcome is given to Raheel Arif, who is in the early stages of discerning a call to ministry and will be with us for the next few months. On door duty this Sunday are: Mrs M. Andrew, Mrs J. White, Mrs C. Park and Mrs S. Marshall. On tea duty are: Mrs I. Strathie, Mrs Sherrat and Mrs J. Letham and Mrs E. Gillies. The flowers for this service are being donated by N. Hay. The Guild meets on Tuesday afternoon at 2.30 p.m. when Granny Gasbag makes an appearance. All welcome. Provisional date for the next service at Barleystone Court Nursing Home is Wednesday, February 25 at 2 p.m. ‘Acting Up’: Christian puppet group is coming to Bonnybridge St Helen’s Church on Friday, February 27 at 7.30 p.m. Tickets are £5 (£2), in aid of Place of Restoration. An all-age singing group is being formed to sing at the coffee morning in the Salvation Army Hall Maddiston, on Saturday, March 7 from 10 a.m. till noon, to raise money for schools, hospitals, Water Aid and other projects in Third World Countries. Rehearsals on Tuesdays, February 24, and March 3 from 6.15-6.45 p.m. The Congregational Annual General Meeting will be held after the service on Sunday, March 1. A good attendance is requested. The World Day of Prayer service will be held in Blackbraes and Shieldhilll Church on Friday, March 6, at 7 p.m.
There will be a concert in Laurieston Church tomorrow (Friday) by Hillfoot Harmony from 7.30 p.m. Tickets are only £5 or pay at the door and children are free. Tea/coffee and biscuits are included. All welcome.
The local RSCDS Beginners Class will meet in Laurieston Primary School from 6.45 to 7.45 p.m. on a Tuesday night (no partner required and accompanied children are welcome).
