The Guild meet in the halls for the final evening of the session. Thanks to all who made the Spring Song such a success. Lent Study Group in Laurieston Church Hall (Session Room). Thursday, April 3, 2.30 p.m. week 4: javert; Thursday, April 10, 2.30 p.m. week 5: Redemption and Salvation. On door duty om Sunday are: Mrs I. Kowal, Mrs I. Strathie, Mrs J. Sherrat, and Mrs J. Letham. On Tea Duty are: A. Gardner, J. Christie, G. Ferguson and J. McLellan. The flowers for this service are being donated by the Guild. The Caption Competition prize for best caption or word bubble suggestion for the minister’s photo closing date is Easter Sunday. Entry is £1 for the refurbishment fund. Holy Week services (all at 7 p.m.) - Monday, April 14, Wallacestone Methodist Church; Tuesday, April 15, Polmont Old Parish; Wednesday, April 16, Redding and Westquarter Church; Thursday, April 17, Brightons Church (Maundy Thursday Communion); Friday, April 18, Muiravonside Church (Good Friday). All are welcome to share morning worship in Laurieston Church each Sunday at 10 a.m.
The preacher at the 3 p.m. Gospel meeting in the Cotton Lane Gospel Hall will be Wullie Barr from Shieldhill. Tea and biscuits will be served afterwards. On Saturday, at 7 p.m. there will be the first in our series of special April ministry meetings, when the Bible teacher will be Robert Muir from Zambia. Everyone is very welcome.
Laurieston Spiritualist Church will have Martin Gilbert from Grangemouth as guest medium for its service in the Old Folks Welfare Hall in Mary Street on Monday, April 7. Doors open 6.45 p.m., service starts 7.30 p.m. Everyone welcome.
The evening walks have recommenced on Wednesdays. Just turn up at Laurieston Square for 7 p.m. and and enjoy a walk around the south paths. Walks are led by experienced walk leaders and we suggest that suitable footwear and clothing be worn. For further details contact Ian Wright on (01324) 636799.
New flute band started in Laurieston - looking for fluters and drummers. We meet on a Monday and a Wednesday from 8-10 p.m. in Laurieston Community Hall. On April 26 the band will be holding a games day with night entertainment in the Laurieston hall from noon - 6 p.m. then a blue night with a loyalist singer from 7.30 p.m. - late. Tickets are priced at £5 each for day or evening and can be bought at the door on the day.
