Ladies Forum

The President welcomed everyone including four new members to the meeting on October 7 when we enjoyed an afternoon of entertainment from Sweet Harmony Barber Shop Chorus. The vote of thanks was given by the Vice President. The next meeting is on October 21 in the Age Concern Hall at 2.30 p.m. when we look forward to a talk on the Camphill Trust.

Tryst Church

Tryst Community Church will meet in Tryst Community Centre, Park Drive, Stenhousemuir on Sunday, October 19 at 10 a.m. for worship and bible teaching. The teaching, which will be led by Bill Davidson, will conclude the series ‘An Overview of the Minor Prophets’ and will focus on The Message of Malachi. There will be time for tea/coffee after the service. We will also meet in the Centre on Tuesday, October 21 at 8.15 p.m. for Prayer Time. You will be made very welcome at either of these Services. Larbert East

On Sunday the morning service is at 10.30 a.m. when we welcome back Mrs Isabelle McMillan. The Young Church meet in the halls before the service and crèche is held in the Session Room. Tea/coffee and biscuits will be served in the hall after the service and the Traidcraft Stall will also be there. On Monday, the Banner and Craft Group meet in the Session Room at 2.30 p.m. New members welcome. The women’s group meet in the large hall on Tuesday at 7.30 p.m. when we will hear Stories from the Court. Kids Clothes Broker hold a sale of children’s clothes in the Upper Room on a Thursday morning from 9.15-10.45 a.m. Entry is through the church hall back door, also on Thursday morning, Weekday Worship is held in the Church at 11.15 a.m. This is a short service and everyone is welcome.

Carron Rotary

Vale of Carron Rotary Club President Jill Dewar welcomed members and former Rotarian Ian Silcock to a meeting at the Plough Hotel, Stenhousemuir. After a lovely meal, fellowship and some brief business items Rotarian Nanas Jack introduced her speaker. Ian gave a most entertaining and informative talk on the American origins of Barbershop singing along with a flavour of rehearsals and performances of ‘Sweet Harmony’ male voice chorus. Stenhouse & Carron

The service on Sunday is at 11.15 a.m. and will be led by Rev. Bill Thomson. The Young Church (Sunday School) meet during the service and new members are always welcome. The Ladies Group meet in the hall on Monday evening at 7.30 p.m. when Geraldine Angus will talk on Water Aid. The popular Wednesday Welcome awaits you in the hall on Wednesdays at 10 a.m. All are welcome to have a chat over a cup of tea or coffee and listen to the minister’s thought for the day.

Toddler Group

Looking for a fun, social activity to fill up your week with your wee ones? Come along to Larbert West Toddlers and Twos Group. The group is for 0-5 years and has a dedicated baby corner. It runs on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays, 9.30-11.15 a.m. during term time, at Larbert West Church, Main Street. Your wee ones will have some playmates and you can have a chat and a cup of tea or coffee. Call playleader Clare on 07870 567116 to reserve a place now.

Larbert Old

You are warmly invited to Larbert Old Church at 11 a.m. on Sunday, October 19. The service will include the Sacrament of Baptism and will be led by Rev. John Brown. Children’s activities and crèche will be provided in the hall, where tea and coffee will be available after the service. Larbert West

The service on Sunday at 10.30 a.m. will be conducted by Rev. Dr Campbell Campbell-Jack. Creche and Sunday Club facilities for all children. Refreshments and fellowship in the hall after the service. All welcome. The Guild meet on Tuesday at 7.30 p.m. when Mr John Helliwell will give an insight into ‘Mary’s Meals’. On Wednesday the Prayer Group meet in the lesser hall at 1 p.m.

Grace Church

Everyone is warmly welcome to the services this coming Sunday in Carrongrange School at 10.30 a.m. and also at 6 p.m. The Sacrament of Baptism will be celebrated at 10.30 a.m. and we will welcome back Jack Thomson from America prior to him starting work with LCYT. Grace Kids meet during the morning service. The Prayer Meeting will be held on Thursday at 7.45 p.m. in the Dawson Mission.

Pentecostal Church

On Sunday, October 19, the morning service will commence at 11.15 a.m. in Larbert High School. The speaker will be Pastor Michael Rollo. Teas and coffees will be available from 10.30-11 a.m. and crèche and children’s church are available during the service. The evening service will commence at 6.15 p.m. in the church on Broomage Avenue and Connect will be leading this service.

Lodge Carron

Lodge Carron welcomes Canadian visitors from Lodge Dufferin 570, Ontario, on Wednesday, October 22 at 7.30 p.m. Please come early as we are expecting a busy night. Prior to that on Monday, October 20 is a general committee meeting at 7.30 p.m. Please note test fees are now due.

Braveheart Walks

Lively walks in Larbert are full of friendly faces, who enjoy the scenery on serveral different routes around this area. Every Tuesday, 10.30 a.m. leave from FVRH, where there is a choice of an hour walk, or a slower walk (average 30 minutes) both finishing in the cafe afterwords. Also a Friday 10.30 a.m. walk, leaving from Stenhousemuir shopping centre, again you can join a slower 30 minute (average) walk or brisker one hour walk, where you can meet everyone in the cafe after your walk.
