Braveheart

Lively walks in Larbert take place every Tuesday, 10.30 a.m. leave from FVRH, where there is a choice of an hour walk, or a slower 30 minute walk both finishing in the cafe afterwards. Also a Friday 10.30 a.m. walk, leaving from Stenhousemuir shopping centre, again you can join a slower 30 minute walk or brisker hour walk, where you can meet everyone in the cafe after your walk. Ceilidh Dancing

If you enjoy ceilidh dancing, come along to the Dobbie Hall on Saturday, April 25, and join in the SNP Tryst Branch Spring Ceilidh. A great night with live ceilidh band and buffet included, in the price of the ticket. Tickets are £12.50 an adult and £2.50 a child and available from Marlyn Graham (01324) 562051.

Carron Rotary

The Rotary Club of Vale of Carron met at the Plough Hotel for the monthly business meeting when several items, including preparation for the Charities Fun Day on April 25, were discussed. The popular event, augmented this year by a food market, will again be run by the club in conjunction with Town Centre Management. President Jill Dewar reminded all that the Rotary Café which Vale of Carron members run at the Tryst Craft Fair in the Dobbie Hall will also require to be manned that day. We are delighted to see visitors on Wednesdays. Grace Church

Services this coming Sunday in Carrongrange School are at 10.30 a.m. and 6 p.m. Grace Kids also meet at 10.30 a.m. The weekly Prayer Meeting will be held this Thursday at 7.45 p.m. in the Dawson Mission. All are warmly invited to these services.

Ladeside Parents

Ladeside Primary School Parent Council (PALS) is holding a meeting on Monday, March 30 at 7 p.m. in the school. Parents, grandparents and carers welcome. Further details available at www.ladeside.webeden.co.uk.

Car Boot

The Dobbie Hall car boot sale takes place every Wednesday from 8.30 a.m. till noon and pitches cost £6 for one and £9 for two. For hall and pitch bookings call (01324) 570450.

Al Anon

A meeting of the above takes place every Friday in Larbert Old Church Hall at 8 p.m. The meetings allow people to share experiences and gain advice on coping with family members suffering from alcoholism. North Broomage

Bingo continues on Monday, Thursday and Saturdays at 7 p.m. The club is available for hire to accommodate birthday parties, weddings etc. and further information is available by calling the club after 6 p.m. on (01324) 552685.

East Playgroup

Larbert East Playgroup has vacancies for new members. The playgroup is for children of two years six months and upwards and runs on Tuesday through to Friday at Larbert East Church from 9.20-11 a.m. There is also a Monday Twos club from 9.30-11 a.m. and a Toddlers Group goes ahead on a Wednesday from 9.30-11 a.m. Anyone interested in joining any of these groups will be welcomed at the church at the above times.

Badminton Club

The club meets in the games hall at Larbert High School every Monday between 8.15-9 p.m.

Toddler Group

Toddlers Tots and Twos meets at Larbert Pentecostal Church in Broomage Avenue every Thursday. The facility is for 0-3 year olds and has a dedicated baby corner. Aerobics Class

Ochilview Bar

Every Sunday at 3 p.m. a domino competition goes ahead when the winner takes home a steak pie and runner-up a quarter bottle of spirits. Entry is £1 and monies raised go to charity. Tonight, Thursday, the quiz goes on as usual in the lounge 8 p.m. Entry is £1 and winning team takes all. The Play Your Cards Right game also features on the same evening.

Barbershop Singing

Sweet Harmony Barbershop Chorus meets for practice every Tuesday at 7.30 p.m. in Larbert East Church Hall (Kirk Wynd) when new members will be made most welcome. Larbert Bowling

Dance/cabaret evenings continue on Friday, April 10, when Gold Retro provides the music. Tickets are £5 and can be booked at the bar. Meanwhile, the club would be happy to accommodate new members and information is available from members or at the clubrooms. Cash bingo goes ahead every Monday at 7.30 p.m. in the club’s Pretoria Road premises.

Walking Football

Stenhousemuir F.C. Community Development Director, Jamie Kirk, would be delighted to hear from anyone over 50 wishing to enjoy a new initiative at the club. Walking Football goes ahead at Ochilview every Monday morning at 10 a.m. and given running with the ball is out of bounds it is ideal for those who feel they would benefit from a gentler form of the game as well as enjoying the social aspect. Stenhousemuir Bowling

Currently celebrating its 150th birthday, Stenhousemuir Bowling Club would be delighted to welcome new members at the Church Street green and forms are available at the bar. The entry fee has been reduced to half price at the current time. Cabaret takes place on Saturday, March 28, when David John will take the stage following the bingo around 9 p.m. David Taylor fills the gaps with his disco and tickets, priced £4, can be booked at the bar.

Lodge Carron

The Lodge conferred the Master mason degree on Wednesday, March 11. A good turnout saw a fine working of the degree by the team. On Monday, March 23 is a GCM at 7.30 p.m. and on Wednesday, March 25 Lodge Dolphin 911 will confer the Entered Apprentice degree at Lodge Carron at 7.30 p.m.

Salvation Army

On Sunday mornings Cornerstone Full Gospel Church meetfrom 10.30 a.m. to noon, run by Pastor Alex Paton. From 2.30-3.30 p.m. is Sunday Worship led by Major John McCaffrey. On Mondays from 1.55-3 p.m is the Home League led by secretary Margaret Ross. Tuesdays from 10-11 a.m. is Headway Falkirk’s Memory Group for people who have a head injury, and have memory problems. Every Second Saturday of the month we hold a men’s breakfast from 9.30 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. And each third Saturday is Woman’s Breakfast at the same times. The Sunday morning service is a joint service at Larbert Old Church at 11 a.m. to which all members are encouraged to attend. On Wednesday the Prayer Group meet at 1 p.m. in the lesser hall. At 7.30 p.m. there is a Kirk Session.

Tryst Church

Tryst Community Church will meet in Tryst Community Education Centre, Park Drive, Stenhousemuir, on Sunday at 10 a.m. for worship and Bible teaching. The Bible teaching will be Study 26 in John’s Gospel, will be led by guest speaker David Andrew and will be followed by tea/coffee. Prayer Time on Tuesday will be at 8.15 p.m. in the centre. Larbert East

On Sunday, the morning service at 10.30 a.m. will be led by Rev. Melville Crosthwaite and Ms Anne White, OLM Student in Training. The Young Church meet in the halls before the service and crèche is held in the Session Room. Afterwards, tea/coffee and biscuits will be served in the hall and the Traidcraft Stall will also be there. The Banner and Craft Group meet in the Session Room on Monday at 2.30 p.m. The Church AGM will be held in the large hall on Wednesday at 7 p.m. followed by tea and biscuits. A sale of children’s clothes is held in the upper Room on a Thursday from 9.15-10.45 a.m. Weekday Worship is held in the Church on a Thursday morning at 11.15 a.m. This is a short service and everyone is made welcome.

Stenhouse & Carron

The service on Sunday is at 11.15 a.m. and will be led by Rev. Bill Thomson. The Young Church (Sunday School) meet during the service and new members are always welcome. The Ladies Group’s A.G.M. will be held in the hall on Monday at 7.30 p.m. The Wednesday Welcome awaits you in the hall on Wednesday at 10 a.m. All are welcome to have a chat over a cup of tea or coffee and listen to the minister’s thought for the day. The Kirk Session meet in the hall on Wednesday at 7.30 p.m. and will be joined by members of the Falkirk Presbytery.
