Tryst Community Church will meet in Tryst Community Education Centre, Park Drive, Stenhousemuir, on Sunday at 10 a.m. for worship and Bible teaching. The service on Sunday is at 11.15 a.m. and will be led by the Rev. Bill Thomson. The Young Church (Sunday School) meet during the service and new members are always welcome. The Church Guild’s Annual General Meeting will be held in the hall on Monday at 7.30 p.m. The popular Wednesday Welcome awaits you in the hall on Wednesday at 10 a.m. All are welcome to have a chat over a cup of tea or coffee and listen to the minister’s thought for the day.
The Saturday Group meet this week in The Stables at midday. All welcome for a blether and a bit of company. On Sunday The Sacrament of The Lord’s Supper will take place at the services at 10.30 a.m. and 6.30 p.m., both conducted by Rev Dr Campbell Campbell-Jack. Creche and Sunday Club facilities for all children in the morning with refreshments in the hall after the service. All welcome. On Monday at 2.30 p.m. there is a Communion Service particularly suited to, but not exclusively for, older members. This service is preceded at 1.30 p.m. by tea and a time of fellowship in the hall. Larbert Old Playgroup has vacancies for new members. The playgroup is for children from two years and upwards and runs on a Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday from 9.30-11.25 a.m. in Larbert Old Parish Church at Larbert Cross. Larbert & Stenhousemuir Probus Club fell foul of the proverbial three things going wrong at its meeting on March 3 - rearranged speakers, hall lock out and snow! The reduced number of 18 members re-assembled at Larbert West Church to hear Ronnie Cheape and Ronnie Laing relate details of their 2014 trip to WW1 Graves of those honoured on the Larbert Old Church Memorial. A further re-arrangement of programme brings forward Douglas Cooper speaking on
his passion of Astronomy to the next meeting on Tuesday, March 17 at 2 p.m. in Larbert Bowling Club.

The Dobbie Hall car boot sale takes place every Wednesday from 8.30 a.m. till noon and pitches cost £6 for one and £9 for two. A meeting of the above takes place every Friday in Larbert Old Church Hall at 8 p.m. The meetings allow people to share experiences and gain advice on coping with family members suffering from alcoholism. Larbert East Playgroup has vacancies for new members. The playgroup is for children of two years six months and upwards and runs on Tuesday to Friday at Larbert East Church from 9.20-11 a.m. There is also a Monday Twos club from 9.30-11 a.m. and a Toddlers Group goes ahead on a Wednesday from 9.30-11 a.m. Anyone interested in joining any of these groups will be welcomed at the church at the above times.

Toddlers Tots and Twos meets at Larbert Pentecostal Church in Broomage Avenue continues every Thursday. The facility is for birth to three years and has a dedicated baby corner. Currently celebrating its 150th birthday, Stenhousemuir Bowling Club would be delighted to welcome new members at the Church Street green and forms are available at the bar. The entry fee has been reduced to half price at the current time. Another cabaret takes place on Saturday, March 28, when a big star of the club scene, David John, will take the stage following the bingo around 9 p.m. David Taylor fills the gaps with his disco and tickets, priced £4, can be booked at the bar.

Vale of Carron
The Rotary Club of Vale of Carron and three guests travelled to Glasgow on Wednesday for an Italian meal followed by a visit to the King’s Theatre. We enjoyed a performance of ‘The Bodyguard’, starring Alexandra Burke as Rachel Marron. It was a lovely evening of fun and fellowship. We are delighted to see visitors on Wednesdays. East Stirlingshire are hoping to be on target this weekend, as the club has arranged a special fundraising darts evening with some of the most famous names in the sport. Sky Sports presenter Wayne ‘Hawaii 501’ Mardle will be heading to the Dobbie Hall in Larbert on Saturday night for the special ‘Tungsten Tear Up’ joined by fellow legends of the oche Keith Deller, Dennis Priestley and the charismatic Eric Bristow. Shire have recently teamed up with the team at Little Kerse to run community football courses and teams, as well as the first-team basing themselves at the Grangemouth training facility during the week. Tickets start at £20 for standard tickets with VIP meet and greet lounge seats available for £50 with profits adding to the club coffers. Lively walks in Larbert are full of friendly faces, who enjoy the scenery on several different routes around this area. Every Tuesday at 10.30 a.m. we leave from FVRH, where there is a choice of an hour walk, or a slower 30 minute walk both finishing in the cafe afterwords. Also a Friday at 10.30 a.m. a walk, leaving from Stenhousemuir shopping centre, again you can join a slower 30 minute walk or brisker one hour walk, where you can meet everyone in the cafe after your walk.
