Our more popular walks in Larbert are full of welcomining faces who enjoy the scenery on serveral different routes around this area. Every Tuesday, 10.30 a.m., we leave from FVRH where there is a choice of an hour walk, or a shorter 30 minute walk, both finishing in the cafe afterwords. Also a Friday 10.30 a.m. walk, leaving for Stenhousemuir shopping centre. Again you can join everyone in the cafe after your walk. For more information call 01324 673703.
Stenhousemuir Salvation Army Community Church welcomes all. Meetings are as follows - on Sunday, Cornerstone Full Gospel Church from 10.30 a.m. - noon. Pastor Alex Paton will lead the service. 2nd Larbert Boys’ Brigade Anchor Boy section is holding an open night on Friday, April 25 in the halls of Larbert Old Parish Church from 7-8 p.m. If you are in P1 or P2, please come along for a fun packed evening and take part in games, stories, crafts and lots more fun. The Sacrament of Holy Communion will be celebrated during the service on Sunday at 11.15 a.m. The worship will be conducted by Rev. Bill Thomson. The Young Church (Sunday School) meet during the service. The church Guild is having a social evening in the hall on Monday at 7.30 p.m. New members are welcome to come along and join in. The popular ‘Wednesday Welcome’ awaits you in the hall on Wednesday mornings at 10 a.m. All are welcome to have a chat over a cup of tea or coffee and listen to the minister’s thought for the day.

On Sunday, the morning service at 10.30 a.m. will be led by Mrs Isabelle McMillan, Reader in Training. The Young Church meet in the halls before the service and crèche is held in the Session Room. Larbert Churches Youth Trust continue to hold a monthly prayer breakfast in support of the work of the Trust and schools worker, Mike Glass, on the first Saturday of each month. The next will be on Saturday, May 3 in Falkirk Free Church at 9 a.m. All are welcome.
The Dobbie Hall car boot sale takes place every Wednesday from 8.30 a.m. - noon and pitches cost £6 for one and £9 for two. Tables are available for anyone wishing to make some money from unwanted items and all money raised benefits the Hall Trust. For hall and pitch bookings call (01324) 570450.
A meeting of the above takes place every Friday in Larbert Old Church Hall at 8 p.m. The meetings allow people to share experiences and gain advice on coping with family members suffering from alcoholism. Larbert East Playgroup has vacancies for new members. The playgroup is for children of two years, six months and upwards and runs on Tuesday to Friday at Larbert East Church from 9.20-11 a.m. There is also a Monday Twos club from 9.30-11 a.m. and a Toddlers Group goes ahead on a Wednesday from 9.30-11 a.m. Anyone interested in joining any of these groups will be welcomed at the church at the above times.
The club meets in the games hall at Larbert High School every Monday between 8.15-9 p.m.
Toddlers, Tots and Twos meet at Larbert Pentecostal Church in Broomage Avenue continues every Thursday. The facility is for 0–3 years and has a dedicated baby corner. The next meeting of Larbert, Stenhousemuir & Torwood Community Council will take place on Monday, April 28 at 7.15 p.m. in the Halls of Larbert Old Church. Falkirk Council will update on the changes to the green bin collections and the Zero Waste Communities Initiative. President Jean Geddes of the Rotary Club of Vale of Carron welcomed members to the Plough Hotel, Stenhousemuir, Falkirk. After a tasty meal members heard updates on arrangements for the Charities Fun Day to be held in conjunction with Town Centre Management on Saturday, April 26 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. beside the Cows in Stenhousemuir. A variety of charities and organisations have confirmed their attendance and there will be attractions for children too. Last year’s event was a great day out and all wish for a repeat of the sunny weather. Ongoing arrangements for the Prize Bingo fundraiser on May 22 were also on the agenda. President Elect Jill Dewar expressed her gratitude for the many splendid prizes being donated by local businesses and members. The event in the Railway Club in Grangemouth promises to be a roaring success.
