Probus Club

It was with great sadness that retiring President Ian Scott announced to the members present at the AGM on April 1 of the death of a longstanding member, Jimmy Logan, whose family and his memory were respectfully remembered in a minute’s silent thought. Due to indicated illness and stays in hospital, numbers were down at this meeting where new President, Tom Meikle was elected. The outgoing incumbent reported on a very full year of many varied speakers, last year’s visit to Dumfries House and the 40th Anniversary Dinner. However, due also to reduced numbers, the intended visit on April 29 to Anstruther was still to be confirmed, which will pursued and members informed accordingly. The committee will meet at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, April 22 in Larbert Bowling Club to consider next year’s syllabus as well as the apportioning of duties to assist any proposed secretary, as the current post holder has stood down due to ongoing poor health. Any member who feels he can assist the club in filling this (well assisted) and constitutionally-necessary role should have a word with Tom Meikle.
