The last work on a lengthy project to raise a rail bridge has been completed.
Main Street and Foundry Loan in Larbert were closed over the weekend to allow Network Rail to remove a temporary pedestrian bridge from the site.
Larbert Rail Bridge closed a year ago, meaning a long diversion for motorists travelling on the town’s main road. The street re-oped to motorists in December and the bridge removal on Saturday night and Sunday was the last major work needed at the site.
The bridge was raised to allow the electrification of the Glasgow to Edinburgh line and is part of an improvement project to shorten journey times and make travelling by train more environmentally friendly.
