Who will be crowned the best in their field at this year’s Falkirk Herald Business Awards?
It is only a matter of days before all the winners are announced.
From large to small firms, innovative and green, those who have proved to be the best in their class will be revealed at next Thursday’s glittering event in the Macdonald Inchyra Hotel, Polmont.
After days of meeting the finalists and hearing their presentations, the judges have finally, after much deliberation, selected the winners in all 11 categories.
A final two awards will also be made on the night – the Outstanding Achievement of the Year will be selected from all the category winners, while the Lifetime Achievement Awards will go to a person who The Falkirk Herald has selected as having made a significant contribution to the business community and the area’s economy.
Previous recipients have included developer/farmer Archie Russell, haulier Duncan Adams, coffee entrepreneur Jack Marshall and potter Barbara Davidson.
This year’s strategic partner is Falkirk Council, which hosted the judging sessions at its offices in Falkirk Stadium.
Falkirk Herald editor Colin Hume, who chaired the judging panels, said: “The standard of entries this year was exceptionally high and it was difficult to decide on only one winner for each category. However, we have made our choices and can now look forward to the awards ceremony.”
