Falkirk Samaritans say it’s good to talk

Samaritans are marking their annual awareness month with an event at Forth Valley Royal Hospital.

The charity will host a stall at the Larbert hospital on Thursday, July 24 for Talk to Us - a campaign urging people to make the effort to talk. By taking just a minute out of your day to compliment a stranger, call an old friend or tell a joke, you could be making a huge difference.

Michelle McClung, chairwoman of the Falkirk branch of Samaritans, said: “Come along to our Talk to Us event and find out how Samaritans is making a difference in your local community. We want people to recognise the value of talking, rather than bottling things up.

“People can get in touch with us by phone, email and text as well as visiting the branch to speak to a volunteer face to face.

“We are here around the clock, every single day of the year.”

The Falkirk and Central Scotland Samaritans has 70 volunteers and deals with over 11,000 calls every year.
