Five winning hairdressers are determined success won’t go to their heads.

The talented stylists reached the finals of the Colour Trophy 2012 competition organised by L’Oreal.

They travel to London next month to compete against the best in their profession after winning the regional finals held in Glasgow Hilton.

In the L’Oreal Professionel Colour Trophy category Shona Laurie (25) and Lauren Johnston (23) of Chaplins in Hallglen hope to take the title and repeat the salon’s success of three years ago.

Owner Rhona Fish said: “We’re delighted for them. I thought they had a good chance, but the judges didn’t spend a lot of time looking at their model.

“However, when the results were announced their names were called first. Now we’ll all be going to the finals to support them.”

Couper and Co have two finalists from the staff at their Falkirk salon – Linsey Waddell (25) and Kerrie Downie (30) will compete in the men’s image category, while Hazel Livingston (24) is in the young colourist final at her first attempt in the competition.

Salon owner Jackie Hamilton said: “It was really exciting when we got through in one category but when the second finalist was announced it was a great feeling.

“Everyone has put so much effort in it was good to see that rewarded. We start working on our ideas around October and the photoshoot of models takes place just after New Year.
