There’s one club in the Falkirk district that truly does provide knockout entertainment for its members.

Zetland Boxing Club in Grangemouth has a great reputation for training young fighters the art of boxing in a professional and disciplined environment.

Many well known Scottish boxers have trained at the club including light flyweight champion Martin Lawless and world light heavyweight contender Stevie Williams.

The club, run by legendary coach John Buist for around 50 years, also receives visits from top boxers like Olympic silver medallist Kenny Egan.

The club attracts scores of youngsters for its classes every week and has received money from the Cashback for Communities initiative to encourage more to take up the sport. Older, competitive amateurs train on a Wednesday evening.

The club also holds annual shows and takes part in championships across the country.
