No matter what age you are, if you’re young at heart that’s all that matters.
Members of churches from all over the Falkirk area meet in the town’s Olivet Evangelical Church each Wednesday for fellowship and friendship.
One member even travels faithfully from Armadale in West Lothian she likes it so much.
The Young At Heart group has around 50 regular members, getting together for a one-hour programme of activities and chats offering people of a certain age an outlet for company and social interaction.
Activities vary from week to week and include interviews, music, poetry, quizzes, Powerpoint presentations and a main feature with a guest speaker who gives a ‘thought for the day’ from the Bible.
Other events can be outings, lunches, visits to the likes of the Scottish Parliament and an annual social evening.
Member John Wilson said: “Members of the group would all claim to be ‘young at heart’, but perhaps older in other places.
“We have well organised meetings full of interesting activities to keep people active and new friends are always welcome to come along.”
