An eclectic group of women from a number of different cultures around the world meet every week and could spread a little colour to your social life.

Despite its title, the Rainbow Muslim Women’s Group is not just for Muslims but for all women from any ethnic background.

As well as being a social outlet where ladies can meet new friends over a cuppa and cake, the group also offers women the chance to enhance their life skills and improve health through educational talks, cooking, aerobics classes, arts and crafts, first aid courses.

Chairwoman Samina Ali said: “The majority of women are from ethnic minorities but we welcome all women and have about 30 regular members who come along every week. It helps people who are maybe isolated in their communities and coming along can help people settle here.

“It’s always great fun and friendly, we’re always doing something different. Our last event raised £314.47 for the areas affected by floods in Pakistan.”
