A group to help lighten the load for those who provide care for loved ones in the Polmont area is going “from strength to strength”.
Polmont Carers Group started in April this year following a consultation to see if local carers would like a chance to meet up with others who face the same issues and challenges.
Caring for a disabled or ill family member is often a full-time with little respite for carers and the group offers them the chance to take a break.
Carers support worker Pat Gallagher, who helps run the group, said: “Since we started the group has been going from strength to strength.
“The group provides a chance to meet others in a similar situation. It’s a relaxed atmosphere where you can enjoy a range of activities and get information and support to help you now and in the future.
There’s always time for coffee and a chat too. So if you help to look after someone who cannot manage on their own this could be the group for you.”
