A group which raises money and awareness for a cancer support charity is celebrating its third birthday.
The Marie Curie Falkirk Fundraising Group was formed in January 2012 and has raised a massive £17,000 in that short space of time.
But the six dedicated female members are not resting on their laurels and are looking to continue the money flow into the vital charity which provides nurses for people with terminal illnesses.
Throughout the year they organise collections and events and are currently preparing for the charity’s biggest fundraiser – the Great Daffodil Appeal collections – in March.
Group member Fiona McCartney said: “I love being part of the group. We have a lot of fun planning our fundraising and it is amazing to think that we have raised enough money for over 896 hours of Marie Curie nursing care for someone with a terminal illness in this area.”
The group is always looking for new members to help out with events and planning.
