Finding that perfect playgroup for your kid’s development is a tricky job and there’s hundreds to choose from in the Falkirk district.

For parents in Larbert a local church is the venue for one long-running and trusted group to take the children to.

The Larbert Old Parish Playgroup is a charity run by a parent volunteer committee and has been serving the community since 1972.

It has three qualified Disclosure-checked play leaders and is for children aged from two-years-old.

Play leader Jacqui Johnson said: “The playgroup offers a safe and relaxed environment for children to play, learn and prepare them for independence at nursery.

“Because we don’t qualify for external funds, we need to raise money to survive ourselves and we do a lot of bag packs, prize bingos and quizzes. We have a lot of fun here.”

The group is holding an autumn fayre on Saturday from 10 a.m. and an open day on November 19.
