As the Scottish population gets older it has generated a bigger demand for social events to keep people active and entertained.
While Larbert Ladies Forum is for women of any age, at the moment it’s mostly ladies of the older generation who frequent its fortnightly meetings in the Age concern Hall next to the Dobbie Hall on an afternoon. The group has been well established in the community for many years and currently has around 30 regular members who have just enjoyed their first meeting of the new session.
When the group was first formed it was only for businesswomen in the area but over time it has evolved to become more inclusive for any women to go along for some friendship and fun and keep socially active.
Speakers entertain members on a regular basis and quizzes, raffles and fundraising for Strathcarron Hospice are also often on the agenda.
