Everybody needs friends – even hospitals – and the one in Larbert can boast of quite a few who have its best interests at heart.
Friends of Forth Valley Royal Hospital is a voluntary group whose members dedicate their time, energy and effort into raising money to benefit the facility and its patients and their relatives.
The volunteers also promote interest in the hospital, champion the comfort and welfare of patients, provide a link between it and all the communities it serves and additional amenities.
The group, which was formally constituted in January 2011, is managed by 13 trustees who hold various fundraising events to pay for what they need.
Chairman Bob Ness said: “There is always a new issue or request from wards or patients to discuss.
“Our trustees are from all over the Forth Valley area from Bo’ness and Grangemouth to Stirling and Sauchie.
“We are involved in lots of projects that help patients and their families and welcome new volunteers.”
