If it’s fun, friendship and flowers you’re looking for then one local group may be the answer.
The Falkirk Floral Art Club was formed in 1960 to actively encourage interest in the arrangement of flowers and today has a membership of around 50 budding enthusiasts who share an interest in flowers and gardens.
No experience of flower arranging is needed and the friendly members always make new ones most welcome.
Secretary Marie Rutherford said: “We are a friendly, informal group who are always looking to welcome new members or visitors.
“Our meetings are very relaxed and we are able to watch a guest demonstrator create some arrangements while recounting entertaining stories.
“The arrangements are then raffled at the end of the evening when a cup of tea and biscuits are available and a nice chat.”
Members have the opportunity to attend six practical classes throughout the session to learn new skills and keep up to date with new flower arranging trends.
Visitors don’t need to join on the first night and everyone leaves with a nice bunch of flowers.
