Home brewing has become increasingly popular over the past couple of years and one club has undergone a revival to help people learn the art of making their own beer, wine and other beverages.

Falkrik District Home-brewing are a band of brewers, young and old, practising the art and are keen to teach their methods to new members wanting to get in on the taste.

Members from the old group of 30 years ago have bonded with newer members to start the club again and get communities involved. The group also has two sponsors – Rubix Tiling and Stewart’s Metalwork – who help fund the activities.

Vice chairman Ian Smith said: “I have a bottle of wine from 30 years ago and another member has one from 10 years ago, but you can make wine in about six weeks.

“It’s not just for adults either. You can bring the kids along and we make all kinds of juice for them and they can learn too. It’s really informal, a good laugh and anyone is welcome to come along.”
