Making sure their village is in tip top condition is the aim of Drumbowie Action Group.
The group, run by volunteers and residents of Standburn in the Braes area, was formed to ensure the village looks good and has facilities its people need and want.
Members recently secured funding to have picnic benches put in Drumbowie Park for people to enjoy and help with the maintenance of the park, especially the grass cutting duties.
The group’s chairperson May Bennie said: “We are a busy group who work to make sure our community is the best it can be.
“We are always looking to do things to improve the area, one of the plans we have is for sensory areas in the park for school children.
“We have an open day with entertainment every year and do things like willow weaving demonstrations in the park too.
“It’s a small community with not much in it to be honest, but that’s what the group is all about. To make sure we have decent facilities and things to do.”
The group has around eight dedicated members and new ones are always made welcome. It’s work is funded through donations and grants.
