Camelon Parents Group offers adults with young children the chance to meet up and take part in social activities in a friendly and welcoming environment.

A free crèche is provided so parents have the chance to enjoy a chat over a cup of tea or learn a new skill.

Organiser Gail Slater said: “We are a friendly group and greet all with a warm smile and a big hello. New members are very welcome.

“In the past we have participated in cookery sessions, jewellery making, trips, community fun days and lots of other activities. We have also had different speakers visit.

“In September last year we helped plan and organise a Gruffalo Day in Camelon. On the day, 136 nursery children and their families and carers came along. We had storytelling in the park with the Gruffalo, Mouse and Fox helping to tell the story from the Gruffalo book.

“We also had singing outside and craft activities in Camelon Community Centre.

“The children also got a goodie bag to take home.”
