Entertainment is the modus operandi of the Brightons Village Association who look after the older people in the community.
The group meets every month to provide a social outlet for mostly senior citizens in the area, although those who have not quite yet reached the golden years are also made welcome from time to time.
Organisers arrange a series of activities and entertainment for the 20-odd regular members including day trips, Burns suppers, local singers, trips to shows at Scottish theatres and good company over tea, coffee, cake and scones. Moira Heeps MBE who helps run the club said: “The group is quite informal and is mainly to keep our senior citizens entertained.
“We have a good mixture of things to do and have a great time on our days out and trips.
“We’ll be going to see the Peter Pan pantomime on December 4 this year and our Christmas dinner is in the community hall the day after.”
