They say pictures can say a thousand words due to the powerful imagery and emotion they can capture.

Whether you’re an old hand at the art of photography, an enthusiastic amateur or an absolute beginner, Braes Camera Club welcomes anyone with an interest.

John Walker, who runs the group, said: “All you need is an interest in photography. It doesn’t matter what kind of camera you have either.

“Our goal is to help improve our members skills so, if they want to, they can help local communities and organisations with projects and gain experience and confidence while giving something back to their local area.

“We are currently involved with several ongoing projects which will help raise our profile as a community-based camera club.”

The club recently changed its name from the Dads and Cameras group and regularly takes field trips to various locations.

It has a presence on Flickr where members can post their snaps.

WHERE: Braes Children & Families Centre, Forgie Crescent, Maddiston

WHEN: Every Wednesday, 7 p.m.
