Staying fit and active in later life is a necessity for good health and the residents of Belmont Tower enjoy a hearty programme of activities to keep them out of mischief.

Belmont Social Club is run by the inhabitants of the landmark flat, part of the landmark estate which towers over Callendar Park.

Members organise a host of things to do for the residents who are all enjoying life in their golden years. Activities range from regular lunches and teas, social days and evenings, day trips locally and across the country, arts and crafts and guest speakers.

Another activity which is proving to be very popular is the art therapy class which is held every Thursday evening.

Art therapy is proven to help those who do it both mentally and physically and the class at Belmont towers is going from strength to strength.

George Meikle said: “All our activities are well attended and everyone has great fun. Members are really enjoying the art therapy class and there’s some great pieces of art being done.”
