As you may have guessed from the witty title Belles on Bikes is a relatively new cycling group for women in the Falkirk area.
The local group is part of the Belles on Bikes network which is supported by CTC, the national cycling charity which promotes pedalling, protects the interests of cyclists of all ages, backgrounds and abilities to enjoy it safely, and easily.
The group, founded by Laura Ledbetter, is also funded by Cycling Scotland and 2014 Communities.
Laura said: “At the start of the year I took part in a ride with the Glasgow Belles, and as well as enjoying being back out on my bike, I really enjoyed the social aspect of riding with other women. There wasn’t a group in my area so I decided to start one. As with the other groups, all women are welcome, no matter what their age or ability.
“We organise rides during the week as well as at weekends, so there’s something to suit everyone. I have gained so much confidence through cycling with the Belles and am now a certified Ride Leader.”
