1st Polmont Brownies and Guides
Girlguiding is the leading charity for girls and young women in the UK and there is a thriving scene in the Falkirk district.
The 1st Polmont Brownies were formed in 1925 and the 1st Polmont Guides were formed in 1969 and, after a short break, re-started in 2012.
Both groups provide the girls with opportunities to try new activities and encourage them to push themselves that little bit further. Since August last year the girls have raised over £1100 for Children in Need, Comic Relief, the World Thinking Day Fund and the EduSport Peer Leader Programme.
The groups give young girls and women a platform to be themselves, have fun, build brilliant friendships, gain valuable life skills and make a positive difference to their lives and their communities.
The organisations also help build confidence and raise aspirations, giving youngsters a chance to discover their full potential.
