Falkirk Association of Retired Persons
Boredom when you retire from work can be a major problem for people, but one local group aims to keep people busy in their golden years.
The Falkirk Association of Retired Persons is for those who are looking to keep active once they have left the world of work.
The group has regular speakers at their monthly meetings ranging in topics from the young offenders in Polmont, Clyde Steamers and floral art to repairs from local tradespeople.
There’s also a monthly day trip to places of interest across the country with the latest taking place yesterday (Wednesday) to the Scottish Parliament. Further trips are planned to Ayr races on June 5 and Traquair House in Peebleshire.
Secretary Sadie Davidson said: “I haven’t had a minute to myself since I retired and it’s great keeping ourselves busy. We are a very friendly club . We are set up so that anyone who might like to come along on their own would be made very welcome.”
