Dancing is a great way of letting our hair down and forgetting about life’s troubles and one group is doing that more than most.
Venture Disco, based in Grangemouth Community Education Centre, is a weekly project which gives people with learning disabilities the chance to get on down as well as learn how to spin the tunes that get people up on the dancefloor.
The group is celebrating its one year anniversary tomorrow (Friday) after starting up using a Lottery grant to buy modern and up to date disco equipment.
Members of the group train as DJs and hire their services out for special occasions like birthday parties for people with special needs.
They also learn how to do all the administration work it takes to run the group and gives members new skills and helps make them lead more independent lives.
Contact the group for a booking or to volunteer.
