Grangemouth Choral Society
Grangemouth Choral Society has been hitting the high notes since 1954 and performs all over Scotland’s central belt.
Almost 60 years on from its inception the group has around 50 members all dedicated to the art of choral singing.
The society’s calendar has two main events every year. At Christmas the choir performs three concerts of seasonal music, and it hosts an annual concert which is held in the Spring.
The choir is a community-based organisation and performs regularly at the request of local community groups, churches and charity groups for fundraising events.
In previous years the choir has even organised ‘sponsored sings’.
Members come from all areas in Central Scotland who come together to share their enjoyment of choral singing. The choir’s repertoire is wide and varied ranging from classical opera choruses to songs from shows, Scots songs to jazz and pop.
The group is hosting its annual concert next Friday, April 19. New members are always welcome.
