1st Bainsford Girl Guides

Children might have a multitude of other distractions to keep them amused in the modern era but there’s one group that has been a constant source of fun and interest throughout the years.

Girl Guiding has stood the test of time and its ethos remains as strong as ever throughout the Falkirk district with many groups still enjoying high membership and the 1st Bainsford Girl Guides is one of the oldest in the area.

The Guides offer girls and young women aged between five and 25 to challenge themselves through a multitude of tasks, experiences and adventures to help give them a sense of pride in accomplishment.

Indeed, two girls, Louise Freck and Emma Gilmour, have recently achieved their Baden Powell Badges, the highest accolade for a young Guider.

Through this local group the girls develop self awareness, respect and confidence and it helps them think for themselves when making decisions, an attribute that will stay with them for the rest of their lives.

They also learn to appreciate their local environment and community doing many tasks alongside people from other cultures.
