The first fundraising event for the Farah Javed Appeal has been organised.

Members of 1333 (Grangemouth Spitfire) Air Squadron pulled out all the stops to arrange next month’s events.

The Rev. Aftab Gohar is the squadron’s padre, while his two sons, Shahan (17) and Zeeshan (16) are both air cadets.

A sportsman’s dinner will take place on Thursday, November 14 in Grangemouth’s Leapark Hotel.

Flight Lieutenant Tom McMorrow said: “It is short notice to organise such an event and we are grateful for the support of the Grangemouth Spitfire Memorial Trust for their support bringing this together.”

For tickets, costing £35, call (01324) 496304 or e-mail accounts@johnmitchell.co.uk.
