Thornwoord TRA

Thornwood TRA will be running the kitchen at the Westfield Centres Christmas Fayre on Saturday from 1 p.m. until 4 p.m. We have mulled wine, Christmas pies and other festive treats to enjoy with your tea and coffee. Please come along and give your support.

Miller Hall

On Sunday, the services will be at 11 a.m. with Mr Jim McEwan and at 6 p.m. with Mr Chris Townsend. Bible study takes place on Wednesday.

United Church

The kids Sunday club meets in the church hall at 11 a.m. Come along and make new friends while enjoying games, arts and crafts, songs and Bible stories. Rainbows, Brownies and Guides meet throughout the week. The Boys Brigade meet weekly on Fridays in the church halls, Anchor Boys (ages 5-7) from 6 to 7.15p.m., Junior Section (ages 8-10) from 6.45 to 8.15 p.m. and Company Section (ages 11-18) from 7.45 to 10 p.m. The Guild meets on Wednesday at 7.30 p.m. in the church halls. With Christmas fast approaching this week the group will be making Christmas Cards with Margaret Arthur and Violet Snowdon. All will be made most welcome. The Badminton club meets weekly in the church hall on Wednesdays from 8 p.m. Players young and old, from novice to champion are welcome. Christmas Coffee Morning takes place on Saturday, November 29 at 10 a.m. until noon in the church halls. Stalls include cake and candy, soft goods, bottle and bric a brac. St James

The service on Sunday will be led by Rev. Colin Mailer. On Sunday, November 30, apart from it being the first Sunday in Advent and all that entails, it is also St Andrew’s Day and we would encourage all worshippers that day to wear a bit of tartan. A Bereavement Service will take place on Sunday, December 7 at 2 p.m. in the church. This service is open to anyone who has lost a loved one whether it be recently or in years past. It will last around 35 minutes and tea will be served in the hall after the service to which everyone is welcome.

Westfield Park

The Christmas Fair will be held on Saturday between 1 and 4 p.m. when there will be lots of Christmas goodies for sale, activities for children, tombola and raffle. Come along and support the centre while doing some Christmas shopping. Free entry. The social evening will be held on Saturday, November 29 from 7.30 p.m. until midnight. Dance the night away to Scottish Music and tunes throughout the decades. Raffle and refreshments. Tickets £3 available from the centre. The mum’s group is on Friday from 10 until noon. Come along and meet other mums for a coffee and a chat. Free crèche provided. Contact Centre for a place. The Credit Union will be in the centre every second Wednesday between noon and 2 p.m. The next date is December 3.
