Bowling Club

The monthly dance has been put back a week to Saturday, April 12. The opening of the green was on Sunday when resident David Gardiner’s mother Helen threw the first jack and although it was overcast, the excellent turnout of members and guests enjoyed a great game of bowls, hospitality and karaoke afterwards. Congratulations to Stenhousemuir’s Davie Phillips and his team on winning the prizes.

Westfield Centre

The community café is open on Wednesday and Thursdays from noon to 2 p.m. The craft group meets on Tuesday evening between 7 and 9 p.m. and Wednesday at 10 a.m. until noon. The Friday women’s group meets between 12.30 and 3 p.m. The job club meets on Wednesdays between 10 a.m. and noon. The CAB meets every second Thursday between 12.30 and 2.30 p.m. Anyone requiring advice or help, please call in to the centre. Falkirk District Credit Union will now start on Wednesday, April 30 and be in the centre every Wednesday from noon-2 p.m. Prize bingo to be held at Thornhill Community Hall in aid of Falkirk Gymnastics Club on Saturday. United Church

There will be no meetings of the kids Sunday club on April 6 and 13. The club will resume on Sunday, April 20. There will be no meetings of the Boys’ Brigade during the Easter holidays. Junior and Company Sections will resume on Friday, April 25 with Anchor Boys resuming on Monday, April 28. The Guild meets on Wednesday, April 9 at 2.15 p.m. in the church halls. All are welcome. St James

Rev. Colin Mailer will conduct the service on Sunday. For future reference there will be a meeting of the Kirk Session on Wednesday, April 9 at 7 p.m. All elders are encouraged to attend. Please bring along an Easter egg on Sunday, April 6 or Sunday, April 13. These will be distributed throughout the district to disadvantaged children. The sacrament of holy communion will be celebrated on Sunday, April 13 conducted by Rev. Colin Mailer. Children, come along and enjoy the Sunday fun club from 11.15 a.m. to 12.15 p.m.

Miller Hall

On Sunday, the family lunch is at 11 a.m. and the 6 p.m. service is with Mr Tony Hutter. Bible study is on Wednesday at 7.30 p.m. All welcome.
