The future of the former Central Scotland Fire and Rescue headquarters will be dealt with in a forthcoming report.

At a meeting of Falkirk Council’s scrutiny committee, Provost Pat Reid asked if Maddiston Fire Station was to close. Scottish Fire and Rescue Service local senior officer Gary Laing could only confirm a paper would soon be published covering the fate of the building.

During the meeting, which looked at the fire service’s performance from April to June 2013, Councillor John McLuckie said he would be seeking assurances the site would not be turned into housing if it did go.
