It was fun and games all the way in a Braes village last Saturday as the first-ever Whitecross Action Group fun day took place at the primary school and Power Station community centre.
Kids got the chance to sample musical instruments and families settled scores in an inflatable boxing ring with giant gloves among the many activities.
Children and families also enjoyed some line dancing, fancy dress, bouncy castles, a bungee run, sumo boxing, Band in a Van, Western gun fighters, while children got the chance to sit in a fire engine thanks to local fire fighters who turned up.
Stalls sold cake and candy, home baking, knitted scarves, greeting cards and raffle tickets and the finale was a colourful ‘Mexican Trilogy’ flag display.
Chairperson Elaine Kelso said: “It was a fantastic day. I would like to say a huge thank you to the committee for all the hard work they have done over the past few months and on the day.
“Our secretary Margaret worked tirelessly making phone calls, making lists, keeping everything in order and went above and beyond the call of a secretary to make sure our first fun day went off without a hitch.
“It was also a great effort by all the mums and dads and most of all a big thank you to the villagers who turned out. It was a great effort by everyone.”
