Forth Valley Royal's Larbert neighbours endure drain misery

RESIDENTS in a private road were horrified when raw sewage from the new Forth Valley Royal Hospital gurgled up from their drains.

Items including wipes, rubber gloves and even over-shoes were among the waste which spread from one home to four others in Torwood Avenue and Stirling Road in Larbert.

One elderly resident, May Taylor (81) was forced to move out when the sewage got into the foundations of her house.

The homeowners affected are angry Scottish Water didn't act as soon as sewage was discovered.

The sewage pipes under the street, which were installed when the street

was created in 1934, are now dealing with sewage from the hospital and the residents are worried the problem will be a re-occurring one.
