The gale force winds and rain from Hurricane Gonzalo seems to be avoiding Falkirk - but the Met Office has a warning in place until this evening.

Winds of up to 55 miles per hour were forecast as well as driving rain, however the weather in Falkirk has been a typical blustery autumn day so far.

The Met Office has issued a yellow ‘be aware’ warning for the Forth Valley area to last until 6 p.m. with strong winds and lots of rain expected.

Hurricane Gonzalo hit Bermuda on Saturday, causing widespread destruction and a power blackout. It travelled across the Atlantic Ocean, reaching the UK today. Flights to and from London Heathrow are still prone to disruption and cancellation and anyone travelling by boat should check travel updates before leaving home.
