Falkirk district woke up to a blanket of snow as winter arrived with a vengeance.
However, weather warnings over the weekend allowed the council to be prepared and main roads were quickly cleared before Monday morning’s rush hour.
Falkirk Council reported that all schools were open, while there were no reports of problems on the roads from Central Scotland Police.
The Met Office said up to 1.2 inches of snow fell on lower areas, with heavier falls on high ground.
It issued yellow ‘be aware’ warnings covering most of central, eastern and northern Scotland.
