Firefighters were called to tackle an early morning blaze at a Falkirk restaurant.

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service’s control centre at Maddiston sent crews from Falkirk, Larbert and Bo’ness stations to the Sanam in Callendar Road after receiving a 999 call at 5.34 a.m. this morning.

Firefighters used breathing apparatus to reach the fire in the kitchen of the popular eatery which suffered smoke and heat damage.

The fire investigation team are currently carrying out an investigation.
