The birth of Jessica Jean Rae
THE PARENTS: Mum Pamella Rae is 29 and works in insurance for Prudential in Stirling, and dad Scott Rae (38) is a butcher in Polmont. Jessica is their first baby and the family live in Carron.
THE PREGNANCY: The pregnancy was fine and straightforward with Pamella only suffering a wee bit of sickness at the beginning.
THE BIRTH: Little Jessica was two weeks early when Pamella went into labour. They went to hospital and it all happened quite quickly for a first baby. Mum and baby were both well afterwards and dad was a great support throughout.
THE BABY: Baby Rae is doing great. She is eating and sleeping well and loves to play on her playmat and swing.
THE NAME: ‘Jessica’ was a name the couple really liked. They had two favourite girls’ names, but thought ‘Jessica’ suited the baby well.
THE GRANDPARENTS: Jessica is a fifth grandchild for Jack and the late Jean Foster of Falkirk, and a fourth for Julie and James Rae of Carron.
THANKS: Special thanks to the midwives at Forth Valley Royal Hospital, and to Julie Rae for being there.
