A weekend of celebrations gets underway on Saturday to mark the 200th anniversary of the Falkirk Steeple.
Events include pipe bands, a street market, heritage games, and theatre is rounded off on Sunday at 4 p.m. with a concert by the Red Hot Chilli Pipers.
There will also be a stovies competition when the hunt gets underway to find the district’s best recipe.
Well known local artist – and Falkirk Herald Bairn cartoonist – Jim Barker will be doing children’s art in the former Officers Club unit in the Howgate from 12.30-3 p.m. on both days.
He will be showing youngsters how to turn photographs of the Steeple into cartoons. There will be a prize for the best one.
