Falkirk’s original landmark is marking a very special anniversary this year.
The Steeple is 200 years old and while the Falkirk Wheel and the Kelpies might be the current talking point, it has been the focal point of the district down through the generations.
To launch the celebrations, which include the Steeple being opened up to the public in September, Falkirk Delivers has organised a photographic competition to take place next month with the entries being put on display over the summer.
People are being encouraged to capture an image of the building at the heart of the town centre over the weekend of June 6-8.
Alex Fleming, assistant town centre manager, said: “We want people to show a bit of creativity, whether it be the Steeple from an unusual angle or having fun with graphics, the more original the better.
“The Steeple is synonmous with Falkirk and this is an opportunity for people to show what it means to them.”
Entries should be sent to firstname.lastname@example.org.
All the photographs will be on display in The Howgate in July as part of an exhibition higlighting the history of the building.
