Falkirk Herald readers have put their own worries to the side to ensure a special festive season for scores of families.
Thanks to your generosity disadvantaged children across the district will wake up on Christmas morning to find a present they might otherwise not have received.
We teamed up with the Howgate shopping centre, and Central FM to launched this year’s Giving Tree Appeal.
And you responded to the appeal with typical generosity – donating a massive amount of presents to the cause and proving that, when times are at their hardest, people are often at their kindest.
Falkirk Herald editor Colin Hume said: ‘‘Our readers deserve a lot of praise for responding to the appeal and they have made a big difference to so many people’s lives.
Howgate marketing manager Margaret Foy said: “We have had 500 gifts donated - that’s by far the most we’ve had in the nine years we’ve been running the appeal.
‘‘I think people realise there will be a lot more children who could miss out on Christmas presents this year.
