Disadvantaged Falkirk children will share over 1000 Christmas presents that have been donated by generous shoppers.
The Giving Tree at Falkirk’s Howgate shopping centre has received a record-breaking response.
It’s the 11th year for the annual appeal for toys and gifts to help families most in need at Christmas.
Bosses at the centre say the 2013 response has been “the best by a mile”.
Marketing manager Margaret Foy said: “I’d like to thank all of our customers who were so kind this Christmas.
“We know from previous years that our customers dig deep to help others in difficult circumstances.
“We asked them to buy one extra gift when they were Christmas shopping and drop it off at the help desk.
“Despite, or perhaps because of, the economic squeeze, we were blown away by this year’s generosity.”
All the gifts have been distributed through Falkirk Council’s social work department and Falkirk for Mums to ensure the presents go to the families in the area most in need.
