Shortlisted businesses are only days away from making their bid for one of the district’s most coveted accolades.

Judging for The Falkirk Herald Business Awards 2014 begins next week after the huge number of entries was whittled down to the final selection.

Those involved in the sifting process had a difficult task in deciding who should make the shortleet and be invited along to make their pitch to the judges.

However, the decision has now been made and the full shortlist can be revealed.

It includes businesses that are high street names and retailers who have only opened in the last 12 months, family firms and businesses with connections the length and breadth of the country.

The winners of the 12 categories will be revealed at the glittering gala dinner in the Macdonald Inchyra Hotel on Thursday, November 20.

Falkirk Herald editor Colin Hume said: “Once again, we have been delighted by the large number of entries and the time that people have taken to fill in the entry forms to make their case in each award category.

“Now the even more difficult task begins of making a decision on the winners following their presentations.

“However, it is also a very enlightening and rewarding experience for all the judges with the opportunity to learn even more about the businesses which play such a vital role in ensuring Falkirk’s economy continues to grow, cementing the district’s important place in the heart of Scotland.”

Tickets for the awards ceremony, costing £55 plus VAT, are now available by contacting Helen Fairley on (01324) 690217. But don’t
delay, they are selling fast.
