HUNDREDS of travellers from Falkirk were stuck in their vehicles overnight this week after blizzards brought central Scotland to a standstill.
Fed-up drivers and passengers were stranded for up to 18 hours as main
routes became gridlocked. Five hundred cars were trapped on the A80
near Denny after a lorry jackknifed at around 8.30 a.m. on Monday morning.
Fiona Allan (23) was stuck on the road until 5 a.m. as she attempted to return to her home in Polmont.
The trainee primary teacher had driven to the Jordanhill campus of the
University of Strathclyde in Glasgow early on Monday morning, before deciding to head for home once it became clear how bad weather conditions were.
