Unemployed youngsters and school leavers are being encouraged to apply for 150 new modern apprenticeships being offered by Falkirk Council.

Vacancies are available in housing, health and social care, business administration and early years’ education, as well as in a variety of roles including plumbers, electricians and plasterers.

Pamela Smith, the council’s employment and training manager, said: “Our modern apprenticeship programme has helped thousands of young people who had few or no qualifications get into full-time and permanent jobs.

“We’re looking for enthusiastic young people who are looking for a career in a wide range of areas and who will receive a wage throughout their time on the programme and a nationally-recognised qualification following successful completion of their training.”

Applicants must be under 20, live in Falkirk and be unemployed or a school leaver by this summer.
