Families all over Falkirk opened their homes to Young American last week, treating them like one of their own.
Over 20 households volunteered to put up performers from the charity, cooking and washing for them as well as running them to rehearsals and ensuring they got a glimpse of what Falkirk has to offer.
The Laing family from Labert welcomed Michael Lunder from Minnesota and Tom Mitchell from Norwich who were in the area to do a three day workshop with pupils from Larbert High and cluster primaries.
The programme promotes the performing arts and self confidence in the participants and it is the third year the organisation has come to the school and the Laings - Fyona, Gordon and Lucas (13) - have hosted youngsters.
Fyona, a personal adviser with The Careers Service, said: “We get a lot back from welcoming Young Americans into our home. We have hosted three times and each time the Young Americans have been polite, enthusiastic and excellent role models for Lucas.”
Young Americans will be back in the area from February 14-16 doing a workshop at Grangemouth Town Hall for anyone aged 8-18, culminating in a show for family and friends. Visit www.yascot land.org for more information or to apply.
